Today’s Obsession With Youth and Beauty
In the days of our grandparents or grand-grandparents, never did they have any issue with growing old. They accepted this process as a part of life.
In those days, spouses were chosen not for good looks but because of their character features and industry.
Now, the situation is totally different, and appearance is the number one factor for many in the choice of mates and in their own personal goals. The beauty industry was worth over $100 billion as for 2022 ( source).
So why all this obsession with youth and beauty?
It’s because humanity is getting gradually cut off from the spiritual world thanks to materialistic education and the reliance on materialistic science.
Through commercials, a human image, preferences and lifestyle are engineered. Through indirect suggestions, we are told what to wear, how to behave, and what our opinions should be.
People are indirectly shamed for not following the trends or opinions in vogue, such as when those refusing to get a barely tested injection were shamed by the society at large.
